Works to Flitch Way

Starting in the week commencing 29 May 2023 and throughout June some vital footpath maintenance work is due to take place at the Flitch Way linear country park, as illustrated on the map shown below.

There will be restricted access to some parts of the Flitch Way and you may have to use alternative access points whilst the work is being done. Please bear with us whilst this work takes place.

Braintree District Council has allocated funding towards this project and will be undertaking the work as part of our continued commitment towards making sure our district is a happy and healthy place to live.

Footpaths and Public Rights of Way

One of the main aims of the Ramblers Association  is to ensure that all footpaths, bridleways and other Public Rights of Way (PRoW) are maintained to an appropriate standard so that they may be enjoyed by all users.
It is therefore important that any problems such as broken stiles, blocked paths or unauthorised diversions are reported to the relevant highways authority, which in most cases in our region will be Essex County Council.
Problems may easily be reported using this link to their highways website:
https://www.essexhighways.org/transport-and-roads/tell-us/report-prow.aspx

Please note the entire length of Byway 93 from Boultwood's Farm to Willoughby's Farm east of High Garrett will be closed for resurfacing works from 4 July until the end of August 2022
